What is difference between Carnauba wax vs Ceramic wax?
Carnauba wax is a natural product that provides a beautiful shine and decent protection for a shorter duration, while Ceramic wax offers advanced, long-lasting protection with enhanced durability and hydrophobic properties. The choice between the two often depends on personal preference, desired longevity, and the level of protection needed for your vehicle.
Carnauba wax is a natural product derived from the leaves of the Brazilian carnauba palm tree. It is often mixed with other waxes and oils to enhance its application properties.
It can be used on various surfaces, including paint, glass, and chrome.
While carnauba wax provides a beautiful, deep shine and good protection, it generally lasts for about 1 to 3 months, depending on environmental conditions and maintenance.
Carnauba wax is known for producing a warm, glossy finish that enhances the depth of the paint color.
It offers decent protection against UV rays, dirt, and light contaminants, but it is less effective against harsher elements compared to ceramic coatings.
Ceramic wax is infused with SiO2, resin, and silane polymer technology that creates the most durable protection we offer. This combination provides a more advanced level of protection, durability, and performance than a standard Carnauba wax.
Ceramic wax can be applied similarly to traditional wax but often requires a more precise application process. It will need to cure for a specific period to achieve optimal results.
Ceramic wax offers significantly longer-lasting protection, typically ranging from 6 months to over a year, depending on the specific product and conditions.
Ceramic wax provides a high-gloss finish that can enhance the paint's clarity and depth, often resulting in a slick, hydrophobic surface that repels water and contaminants.
It offers superior protection against UV rays, chemical stains, bird droppings, and other environmental contaminants. The hydrophobic properties help keep the vehicle cleaner for longer.

Use a car wash soap that's pH neutral and pure, and avoid products that contain waxes or gloss enhancers. Avoid Auto car washes, this will help the longevity of the ceramic wax. Imagine how strong the chemicals have to be for a touchless wash to actually dissolve all the dirt off your paint. It's obviously going to be dissolving some of your wax or sealant off in the process. Check the Ph levels on some of the common conveyor/automatic car wash soaps.
No, Ceramic coatings offer superior durability compared to ceramic wax and require a different application and maintenance process. However, ceramic wax does contain silicon dioxide (SiO2), similar to ceramic coatings, which provides it with greater durability than standard carnauba wax, while eliminating the maintenance demands associated with ceramic coatings.
The durability of the Ceramic wax on your vehicle is influenced by how it is stored. If your car is garaged at both work and home approximately 80% of the time, you can anticipate the protection to last up to twelve months. Conversely, if your vehicle is consistently exposed to the elements—such as being left out in the sun, cold, and rain—the protection may only last around 7 to 8 months. If we’re working at your home location, then if possible, we’ll use the water spigot you have. If we’re working at an apartment or your work location, we have our own water supply that we use. We do need an outlet for power at this time.
